Principal's Message
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year!
I am so excited to spend another year learning and growing together. This year, along with academics we will focus on our core values of being respectful, responsible, and ready to learn. At Cox Elementary, we are a community of learners and these values guide us as we work together to grow into our best selves.
I am looking forward to some new initiatives to help support our community. We will have all school assemblies twice a week on Thursdays (Thursday Flag Assemblies). Once a month during these assemblies we will celebrate students that have done exceptional work showing our core values by honoring them with an Excellent Eagle Award. Be on the lookout for Excellent Eagle slips that will be sent home when students are “caught” showing their core values. We will spend some time learning about what it means to be respectful, responsible, and ready to learn and we have a new matrix that outlines how we move around the campus. You can see that here.
Academically we will continue to have strong instruction in the core subjects, we will have PE on Fridays, we will have music instruction, and we are excited to integrate art instruction in the areas of theater, dance, and visual arts.
Your partnership in your student’s education is one of the most important things! Please reach out to your student’s teacher if you have any questions, concerns, or just want to check in. Parents/guardians are always welcome to stop by the office or reach out with any concerns.
